• Dragon Academy Presents:

    SHADOW DANCE

A Transformative Immersion for Relational Edgeworkers

  • An Invitation to Shadow Dance

*This is an advertisment for our full Immersion at the end of March. CLICK HERE for the one day workshop in Puna on March 15.

This March 28 – April 2, immerse yourself in the lush, untamed beauty of Puna, Hawaii, for a transformative 5-night, 6-day retreat on the Big Island.

Imagine being enveloped in geothermal hot springs, caressed by tropical breezes, and mesmerized by the enchanting call of birds and coqui frogs. In this sacred land, you will embark on the Shadow Dance — a courageous exploration into the darkness of the unknown.

It is more important now than ever to come together for cooperation and collaboration as a human species. By facing our own shadows, we cultivate the physical and emotional fitness required to expand our capacity to hold space in our communities, building resilience and trust in both ourselves and each other.

We'll connect the physical dance to the relational dance through contact improv, acro-yoga, water based explorations, embodied feelings practices and relational edgework, honing the arts of attunement, learning how to listen with your body, to hold and be held, and to find balance in shared weight.

Our robust and diverse team of space holders will shine light on your blindspots, assist you in crafting a vision for stepping into leadership, and lovingly hold you accountable to the path you choose.

Will you surrender to the rhythm of your shadow dance?

  • Who are we?

We are a growth-oriented community focused on developing Self-Responsible human beings. Why? Because that's what the world needs more of.

At Dragon Academy, we don’t just talk about transformation—we live it. Our relational edgework practices guide you beyond theory, into a field where you feel the shifts in your body, where your outdated programming is consciously exposed, and where new ways of being are embodied through real-time feedback and container practices.

  • Our Impact

    Watch Sabrina in her FIRE.

"The Dragon Academy gave me tools to face confrontation and stand my ground, something I had never done before. I am significantly less afraid of intense situations now.”

    Watch Maggy in her Tenderness.

"Being in this community has allowed me to go to the deep places inside of myself that I've been really afraid to go for a long time.”

    Watch Josh in his Awe.

"We have such clear rules, we can push so many edges, and experience so many sides of each other, and we're all free to be more of ourselves.”

  • Our Methods

    Foundational Exercises

Sharpen Your Presence, Attunement, & Interoception

With powerful, focused exercises, we drop into connection. Warmups dissolve social masks, and we dive into embodying the full spectrum of anger, fear, sadness and joy. Through playful and intentional relational dances, you’ll feel your edges soften as you connect deeply with others.

    Container Work

    Confront Your Individual Edges

Within intimate groups, you’ll focus on your personal challenges—such as standing in the places where you would normally collapse, exploring edges of intimacy that are foreign to you, or expressing rage with your “no.” These containers are raw and real, pushing you to face the parts of yourself you’ve kept hidden.

Be Witnessed as you Redefine Yourself

Step onto the stage and explore new expressions of self, supported by the group’s presence. Try on new ways of being in front of others, and let their witnessing and feedback empower and transform you in real time.
